IT’S THIS PLACE WHERE YOU FEED YOUR BRAIN WITH STUFF THAT MENTALLY TASTES GOOD.
IT’S THIS PLACE WHERE BIG NOVELS GET SMASHED DOWN INTO TINY BITS AND THEN ARE PUT IN YOUR HEAD.
IT’S THIS PLACE WHERE SOME GUY READS BOOKS AND THEN TRIES TO TELL FUNNY STORIES ABOUT THEM.
That’s the Literarea.
WHAT THE BLEEP IS A LITERAREA?
Well, since we made the word up we should probably define it. The Literarea is where we sound off
on the written word. While that typically involves, you know, books and stuff, there’s a lot more to it
than just the occasional book review.*
In the Literarea, we stick our noses into every form of media where the written word has an
impact – that includes movies, television and social media. If there’s a literary tie-in, we’ll find it
and then write about it. And hopefully in a way that’s more engaging than typical literary pages.
You’ll find the latest news about the newest books,
the latest film adaptations and anything that has to
do with central Illinois, including local writers and
literary events. We also reproduce popular myths
and then replicate the results, giving the
myth a “Busted”, “Plausible” or
“
Confirmed” rating!**

Don’t miss Kevin’s Occasional Book Reviews, book
reviews by Kevin that come out occasionally***
**
Okay, that last bit isn’t true. That’s actually
MythBusters on the Discovery Channel, which we think
is a pretty awesome show
***
Usually when Kevin finishes whatever
book he happens to be at the moment, new or
old. Since he reads 50+ books a year, that’s fairly
occasional by occasionality**** standards.
