he 2013 de Tonti Award
for Outstanding Princi-
pled Community Leader-
ship was presented to Illinois
State Senator Dave Koehler
during the 2nd Annual de Tonti
celebration on Sept. 21.
The Peoria Historical Society,
in partnership with the Institute
for Principled Leadership in Pub-
lic Service at Bradley University,
will host the de Tonti Celebration
in the ballroom of the Peoria Mar-
riott Pere Marquette Hotel.
The Historical Society and the
Institute have worked together to
establish the following criteria for
this award:
The recipient shall demonstrate
Outstanding Principled Commu-
nity Leadership:
Senator Koehler has demon-
strated a devotion to these cri-
teria through his years of public
service.
The citizens and organizations
of the Tri-County region have
benefitted from his outstanding
principled leadership in many
ways. We are pleased to honor
him with this award.
