MS Carnivale
celebrates 10th year
Vivid colors, shiny beads, a
melange of acts and lots of fun...
It’s Peoria’s own MS Carnivale,
scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday,
March 16, at the Par-A-Dice
Hotel, 7 Blackjack Boulevard in
East Peoria.
The 10th annual MS Carnivale
Mardi Gras celebration aims to
educate, entertain, and fundraise
for the Greater Illinois Chapter of
the National Multiple Sclerosis
Society. More than 600 guests are
expected to join in the revelry
and savor the flair of a New
Orleans celebration, which will
include musicians, entertainers,
a raffle, a popular silent auction
and French Quarter-style fare.
JammSammich will perform.
In 2011, the Carnivale raised
more than $100,000 to support
research, programs and services
that will benefit the more than
20,000 people affected by MS in
Illinois.
Tickets are $100 each, of which
half is tax deductible. For more

Notre Dame auction March 24
The 29th Annual Peoria Notre
Dame Auction is scheduled for 6
p.m. March 24 at Embassy Suites
in East Peoria.
Titled “An Irish Field of
Dreams,” the event includes
cocktails and dinner with the live
auction set for 7:15 p.m.
Tickets are $75 a person or $150
a couple. For tickets or more

Spring Gala set in April
The annual Children’s Home
Association of Illinois Spring
Gala event is at 6 p.m. Saturday,
April 28 at the Country Club of
Peoria.
Proceeds from the event help
ensure that the homeless youth
in our community get the sup-
port and guidance they need to
build a better future and that
youth who are at high-risk for
juvenile delinquency receive the
crisis counseling, skill building
and advocacy they need to keep
them on the right track and keep
families together.
To date, the Gala has raised
over $860,000 for the children and
families in our community.
Tickets are $175. A table of 10
costs $1,750.

Ireland for a buck!
The Boys and Girls Clubs of
Greater Peoria will have their
annual St. Patrick’s Day Raffle,
with the grand prize being a trip
for two to Ireland. Kelleher’s and
Suzi Davis Travel have worked
together to provide the trip.
Tickets are just $1 and the
winner will be notified by phone.
Drawing will be at Kelleher’s
Irish Pub, 619 SWWater St. in
Peoria on March 17.
All ticket sales will be donated
to the Boys & Girls Clubs of
Greater Peoria to help support
their programs.

“Frolic With The Fairies”
The Junior League of Peoria
will host its fourth annual “Frolic
with the Fairies Mother-Daughter
Tea and Style Show” on Saturday,
March 10 at the Par-A-Dice Hotel
in East Peoria.
The grand ballroom of the
hotel will be transformed into
a magical Winter Wonderland
where daughters can model their
fairy costumes and enjoy a light,
themed meal. Entertainment
includes the décor of McKinley
Park Events, the ballerinas of Peo-
ria Ballet, and the music of JulieK.
Tea times are 9 a.m., 12:30 p.m.
and 4 p.m. Tickets are $30 each
or a table of 10 may be purchased
for $250. Proceeds support the
Junior League of Peoria and its
mission to build a better com-
munity.
Alternatively, a ladies-only
“Mad Hatter Tea Party” will be
held the night before, March 9
from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $25
each and include heavy hors
d’oeuvres, a signature drink, a
Mad Hat costume contest, and a
specialized shopping experience
in the Winter Wonderland.
