Honoring heroes
The Central Illinois Chapter
of the American Red Cross will
host its annual Heartland Heroes
Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Saturday,
April 28, at the Par-A-Dice Hotel,
7 Blackjack Boulevard in East
Peoria.
The event recognizes and hon-
ors people whose commitment
and courage make a difference
in the lives of others. Awards are
presented in the categories of
Lifesaving, Good Citizen, Youth,
and Public Safety.
In particular, according to the
Red Cross:

Youths:
Youths under 18
who show personal brav-
ery or devotion to a greater
cause.
•
Public Safety Profession-
als:
Health-care, military or
public safety professionals
who go above and beyond to
answer the call to service.
•
Good Citizens:
People who
display exceptional courage
or dedication to a greater
cause.
•
Tickets are $250 and can be
purchased online at
