EASTER SEALS BACKROADS TOUR
A Motorcyle Fun Run to benefit
Easter Seals is scheduled for June 1,
staring with registration at 9 a.m. on
the Peoria Riverfront.
Stops along the way include The
Twisted Spoke Saloon, Pekin; Kep’s
Place, Washington; The Landings
at Henry Harbor, Henry; Castaways,
Chillicothe, and Crusens’, War Me-
morial Drive, Peoria.
Last bike will be in at 6 p.m. at the
Peoria Riverfront CEFCU Center
Stage. A concert featuring Sixteen
Candles Band starts at 7:30 p.m.
Registration will be $20 for a rider
and $10 for a passenger if done in
advance at any bike night or $25 and
$15 the day of the event.
Also included is a raffle for a 2013
Harley-Davidson Switchback. Tickets
are $20 for one, $50 for three or $100
for seven. Winner will be drawn June
1
at the after party on the riverfront.
CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK
TELETHON IS JUNE 2
The annual Children’s Miracle
Network Telethon to raise money for
the Children’s Hospital of Illinois is
scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on
Sunday, June 3.
Sponsored by the Children’s Hospital
of Illinois Foundation, the telethon
is broadcast on WEEK-TV from
the RiverPlex in Peoria and from
Bloomington-Normal, as well.
Relay for Life events in June
Several Relay for Life Events will be
held throughout the Peoria region
during June, with the annual Peoria
Relay for Life set for 6 p.m. on Friday,
June 21, at Peoria Stadium.
The event, which raises money for
the American Cancer Society for
research and to find a cure for can-
cer, will include opening and closing
ceremonies and the Luminaria Cer-
emony and Survivor Lap, as well.

WINES AND POLO BACK FOR
EASTER SEALS ON JUNE 22
The annual Wines & Polo on the Prai-
rie event to raise money for the local
Easter Seals chapter is scheduled for
5
p.m. Saturday, June 23 at Weaver
Angus Farm in Peoria.
The event, which features a live polo
match, will enable participant to
sample 80 different wines and food
from 20 local restaurant. Sponsored
by Mangieri Cos., Par-A-Dice Hotel
and Casino and Methodist Medical
Center, the event also includes live
music after the polo match, which
begins at 6:15 p.m.
