Congratulations to Tonya Thomas Koontz, Barbara Reunau Force and Jess Evans who all correctly predicted the first day on which Peoria would receive one inch of snow. Each winner will receive a VIP Gift Certificate from Papa Murphy’s for a free large pizza!

Although the date was hotly contested around The Peorian’s editorial office (“Did it actually accumulate an inch?” “Wasn’t some of it freezing rain?!”), ultimately the decision rested with the Peoria International Airport who declared unequivocally (and with great pomp and circumstance) the official day of the first inch of snow to be December 20. And opposing factions within The Peorian have decided to accept the PIA’s ruling and not take our country through a costly and time-consuming recount. Long live December 20!

Tonya, Barbara and Jess can pick up their prizes at The Peorian’s heavily fortified headquarters at their convenience, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m Monday through Friday. Bring seven forms of identification, including but not limited to your driver’s license, birth certificate (long form), dental records, criminal record, family photos, photos of your pets, photos of your friend’s pets, photos of your pet’s pets (if that’s possible) and a letter from your mother.*

*PUBLISHER’S NOTE: Ignore that last sentence. A photo ID is all you need.
